Building participation infrastructure for Louisiana.

The Louisiana Democracy Initiative is a Louisiana-based civic participation organization using technology, communications, organizing infrastructure, and statewide convenings to make participation easier, more informed, and more habitual.

LDI's work is rooted in a simple idea: democracy works better when more people can participate meaningfully. That requires more than inspiration. It requires tools, trust, distribution, training, and infrastructure that can last beyond one election cycle.

Mission

LDI builds tools and systems that reduce civic friction and help more Louisianans participate in shaping the decisions that affect their lives.

Theory of change

We reduce participation barriers by building useful tools, distributing them through trusted community channels, validating what works, and iterating quickly.

MyBallot

Voter education and ballot planning tools

Grassroots organizing infrastructure

My Louisiana Summit

Nonpartisan public posture

LDI's public-facing participation work is nonpartisan. Our tools and programs are built around access, clarity, fairness, transparency, and participation.

Louisiana-rooted approach

LDI is built for the real conditions of Louisiana politics — all 64 parishes, local races that rarely get attention, constitutional amendments buried at the bottom of ballots, and communities that deserve better civic infrastructure than what they have been given.

Join us in building Louisiana's civic future.
